What Happened to October!
Well, October saw the opening of Daffodil Lane, a new Art Gallery and creative hub in Carlisle, Cumbria, where I continue to exhibit a selection of my work.
I have taken a vacation during half term, with my family to Blackpool, to see the illuminations, so we are all feeling well and truly Christmassy now.
I was also invited to speak at a local business networking group to introduce myself and my work. The people here were incredibly welcoming, and the experience was extremely interesting and valuable.
Some of my latest work has been inspired by Rome and some old photos I have pulled out of the loft, from a visit taken many years ago.
I have been experimenting mixing my digital and mixed media together in this work. Using my digital art as a base and painting and working into it, to create a new approach which I believe is giving my work a fresh look and appeal.
Recently I have spent many days in my studio working with collage and mixed media. Light and layers are the inspiration here, as well as trying to connect my art with my deepest feelings letting the process take the lead.
Right now, I am feeling very inspired by the autumnal weather and the ever-changing landscape, colours and light.
I will be exhibiting some of my work at Brampton Art Clubs Annual Exhibition at, The Wooden Hut, Union Lane, Brampton. The exhibition preview event is 10th November at 7pm. General viewing is available from 10am- 4pm on the 11th and 12th November. Please feel free to come along and check out the amazing talent in this area.
