Purpose Fuels Passion Amy Edge.com
A Life with Purpose.
This month I am delving deep into who I am and what, makes me tick, what makes me happy and what most certainly does not. I am trying to put the purpose back into my life, stop winging about not having time, stop prioritising the unimportant jobs and focus my life on happiness and fulfilling some of my goals.
Having spent a good deal of the summer just soaking up Inspiration it’s time to get back to the studio and start creating.

Travelling through Wales and Scotland.
Our holidays took us not only to Wales but to the Trossachs in Scotland too. The landscape was terrific. I was particularly taken with the tall evergreen trees that seemed to patinate the landscape in Wales. The Trossachs was more of a personal retreat. Stopping and sketching each day. Here I very much enjoyed the rich golden fields and the rather stunning cerise weeds growing in the hedge rows along the roadside.
This has inspired a small series of paintings three in total so far that I am pleased with.

Daily Walking
As we have approached the Autumn, my daily walks have kept me looking in the hedgerows for inspiration. Nature is such a wonderful thing. I have noticed some wonderful seed heads and am desperate to try something with these.
I have tried a number of ideas with these now, firstly iI have tried just simply working intuitivley from the idea of the seed heads not having anything to copy or look at.
This was successful on many levels but I want to continue to try other ideas. I decided to take a camera out with me on my next walk and capture the feeling of the hedgerows with these magestic seed heads standing tall simple jewels of nature. Next I tried simply using paint on paper a much more simplistic approach.
Then I get back to my theme for the month which is 'Purpose Fuels Passion'. So what is it that I am passionate about I ask myself, what are those things in my life that I am just not able to let go of. Well I love nature and this is nature, I also love to sew and have a passion for Textiles. Great so I could combine my love of nature with my love for textiles, use my sewing skills and combine them with painting and mixed media. This could mix things up a bit and hopefully create some interesting results.
